Thinktank 1.0 vs 2.0

I’ve been reflecting on the Centre’s first week and wanted to share a bit of the thinking behind the creation of a web 2.0 thinktank and how that might be differ from the way other think tanks and organisations are currently working and engaging with people in the field.

The image below reflects the contrasts between the 2 worlds that are emerging in policy discourse. It takes the use of the web and technology as a given and aims to capture some of the direction of travel that many of us are now moving in.  It’s not a critique of other think tank’s work or approach – rather its a response to a different policy climate and is our starting point for the Centre’s work. The slide is part of my presentation to the Social Media Week Be2camp event later today.
